My Pilot Life - Chapter By Chapter I Clock is ticking and 24 hours is always not enough for me... After my Hong Kong Pass has rejected and so I decided to continue my flying course - or can be called as flying lesson as part of my interest for my next learning thing :) Flying - to none flyer, is scary ; can be seen that recently air accident is mainly caused by either human error or terrorist, of course, flying still consider a fun thing to do :) Well, flying is fun but when comes to training procession, is a huge challenge! Why I say so? To learn how to drive comes in practical and theory, to know the road sign, the roadway priority, who shall give way... Practical turn into handy by operating the vehicle with theory knowledge, well all is about experience... Practice makes perfect what everyone agree the statement, Let's see - Flying, there's no roadway, everyone might think can fly anywhere they like, statement agree but not in hundred percent, as seen, every country have their own airspace - air control zone, different types of aircraft only meant to travel in certain air control zone, not just that, need to seek approval from the authority upon arrival too! Do you think that flying is fun? I like that though, some may think so troublesome and just quit... My admin - Captain Amira, submitted my examination registration on last two weeks ago, I sat for 3 subjects out of 7 which I comfortable with and managed to handle... Three weeks ago before she went for submission at DCA, we had a flight training and we went through all the subjects, passed relevant information and books for me to study... And we both went home to CIQ by bus from Senai , she head back to her hometown and me myself head to Singapore, when I realized I only have 3 weeks to go for my three ground exam paper, I'm kinda confidence but with a little worried 😓, as my first time aviation paper - Ground paper.... Day by day passed, Captain Chandran - who is same batch with me, dropped me a message and wanna pass some exam question paper, those past year exam... I'm so glad and touched, as what I had said wanna pass to him end up he is the one share with me, due to some conflicts with other club instructor, well I try not to recall the previous occasion, just ignore it... I met him at Tampines, he came with a Grey car, not sure what kind of brand - Honda civil? He sent me a regards and brought me for a coffee.... We have a little conversation at one of the coffee stall later he hand over the exam question paper for me in his car by explained the exam paper and answer, how to read through, and so he gave me a free ride to east - Jurong from West :), got a lunch meeting with my ex-colleague at my previous work place... Well, is totally late! Day by day, week by week, almost finished one of the subjects which is HPL ( Human Performance Limitations), before that I did read and go through other subject as Air Law, final subject - Aircraft Type Rating I made it on my last few days!... What are the subjects all about? Initially, I'm not sure what I am reading and don't even know how to start, with the books which Captain Amira lend to me and what Captain Chandran had gave to me the exam paper, well thanks God by leading me the way, I managed to study and I love it... Not it, but them... Talk about the subjects! Air Law, isn't all about law, I mean the Aviation law... Of course the rules and regulations of aviation is so important, every country has their own airspace, air traffic controller, restricted area, danger area, by how many thousand feet needs to report to ATC or what types of aircraft can't fly into any airspace or any land at any open space.... That's part of it in the air law, who should give way in the air, glider and balloon who should give way, under without ATC instructions in landing area, what should you do after landing, and ALL the runway and taxiway signboard, the marshaller instruction, the meaning of beam light given by ATC for landing and on taxiway aircraft, how should you reply when on air to ATC!!! And so... I must know, to stall in my mind without any losing... HPL - the human Performance Limitations, is a really interesting subject to learn or read, what is it all about? Well, kinda like biology things... Human breath in Oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, how many percentage on it in our body, what if inhale or exhale too much what kind of symptoms will happen to our body, red blood and white blood purpose, eyes and brain, pressure gives us what kind of symptoms, of course some limitations such as after drinking and smoking, in how many hours can commerce for next flight and some other group discussion, team discussion.... Is all about human performance, to know our human's body limits, that's why it named this subject as Human Performance Limitations :) Aircraft Type Rating - is all about self-learning, study what the aircraft I fly, unbelievable and must know too, so I always say that flying and driving is so much different, in simple way - yea, driving by knowing how to operate, control speed limit on the road, any kind of vehicles can just hop on and start the engine, get set and go, without knowing all the engine oil. Pressure, and so others - those vehicle mechanical things, truth is once break down, can just simply park beside the road and by calling a mechanic for repairing or service, once again flying... I can't stop in the sky, I only can maintain my speed, to reduce or push throttle for more power... What if engine failure, fire in the engine, oil pressure failure any kinds of situation, must know how to handle all those in my mind by just flicking the finger as simple as that, no panic or tension or nervous - that's for sure, so this is why Aircraft Type Rating comes handy for learning to know what and how is my aircraft is :) Every aircraft has its own limitation, oil pressure, take off weight, baggage weight, person on board and so... This subject full of numbers, and aircraft mechanical words description and explanation, by telling you what is the function of every aircraft parts, how it runs and what if failure, which part or engine will get affected by notice you in the glass control panel ... Too much, Unfortunately I get myself to read the engine and avionics parts.... That's it :) MPL to be continued :) |
But I learn how to spread my wings
