Saturday, 3 October 2015 The No star interview session with Jetstar My first time flew with Jetstar was on January, bound for Hangzhou which I have attended my ex-colleague's wedding, the flight experience was awesome... Well, I'm not talking about my flight experience here , but is all about the interview progression. In early of year 2014, Jetstar called up and invited me for an interview, so excited and it was my first time to receive invitation from Jetstar! Talked about the process, took quite long in every session... And make a final conclusion here, I was eliminated on 2nd stage, disappointed but I looked forward on next upcoming interview too.... As the interviewer and HR staff were so friendly :) That is my throwback, and here's my current experience as I walked away after my interview 2 to 1 in a meeting room where there were two groups in same room having the interview too,.. This time interview felt so much unhappy and never receive any respect from interviewer, why I said so? Shall continue read then... I reached Jetstar office near the terminal 1, in between terminal 3, I knew the place, as I always pass by the place where I saw a lot of Jetstar crews walking around, got myself in the lift, an admin greeted me, guess he is a Jetstar admin... Once the lift has opened, there were alot candidates queue up... 9am sharp, everyone began to queue for registration, I was so sleepy as yesterday I ended my night shift, so I done my registration followed by height check, head shots and skin check.... And started to wait for interview, in my experience, cabin crew interview always divided into group with number of stages, while this time, it wasn't.. I have waited for about an hour, finally my number called up, an official cabin crew leaded me to another place, before that a HR executive approached us in the waiting room, she was so friendly, advised all the candidates stay relax and enjoy ourselves, try to get to know each other while waiting... I seated outside the meeting room with another candidate which will be her next turns, she was a Jetstar ground staff, we have a little conversation while waiting, she entered.. I'm next after about 5 minutes... Well, the meeting room has 2 groups who were having their interview, yea no division... So I can hear what they said, and see them physically... The two interviewer greeted me and told me to be seated, here is the lousy experience.... One of the official senior cabin crew said " Can you give an introduction about yourself? " I began to give a simple introduction, " Good morning,...  " I just began my introduction....  And he began shows not interested on me, no eye contact with me and lean backward on his chair, soon he stood up and walked to other table take something, I stunned and stopped my introduction...  The other interviewer who is an admin told me to carry on... I'm thinking, have I done any mistake? No point showing me the face and the worst part stood up walked away without saying any single word of excuse himself!!! So that's the senior cabin crew of Jetstar as an interviewer, not even shows any respect... I lost confidence after that, began to shake and just feel like wanna leave the place... Well, both of interviewer also carry on their interview session although showing no interest on me... The admin gave me two scenario, first was if he was a passenger, wanna go for toilet but has been waiting for awhile as someone was inside, he approached you, what would you do? What was your reply? Haha, I asked him to wait, of course I need to check the situation, of course when comes to real operation, I'm not that lacked of alertness lol... But at that time, nervous plus their not interested face...  Feel sianz.. Second scenario, he asked me to have a view on the catelog, he gonna ask me some question.... " DING DONG " " Hi Sir,how are you? " " Hi, I'm good! " " How can I help you sir?" " My wife asked me to buy her something, but I don't know what to get for her! " " Well, I can recommend some new items in our catelog,  may I know do you have any budget on it? " " I'm open to anything " " Well I can recommend our latest make up kit which comes along with free gift only SGD 52! " " I don't think she needs that for a moment, do you have any other recommendations? " " What about our latest perfume? " " Emmm, do you have other choices? " " We also these the special edition and latest polar bear collection from Jetstar, your wife gonna like it... " " No no I don't think so...  " " What about the purple perfume? " He stopped me, mistake? Yea, I repeat my suggestion - perfume! Whatever it is, I'm not interested to join them by just simply answer their question.... The no manner senior cabin crew asked me how to be fair in the team when comes to multi religious working environment ! I stucked, and anyhow answer... He looked at the new candidate profile when I anyhow answer his question ... No eye contact,... He gave me a final conclusion on the interview... I got nothing to ask them also, shake hands and walked off, before that I looked into the eyes of the admin by telling him that " Guys, you failed me is better than hired me as you guys not even show a simple basic manner to candidate! You guys didn't hire me is your lost... " So, I won't apply Jetstar cabin crew in future... Even how poor the candidate is, try to give a chance, maybe they are looking for a professional and perfect candidate, well you can't judge a person's poor presentation means he or she is failed to be the right candidate, somehow he or she is the top candidate when comes to operation, hence a well presentation candidate may be lacked of operation experience or alertness or others or he or she is a right good candidate when comes to operation, we won't know! Just one thing, no matter who you are, we are human, God creates us as one, show the respect to others, that's a basic attitude... Comes to end here, First I gonna say that my English is not as good as others who are well educated but I willing to learn, Second Im not gonna step into that Airline for any interview... The interviewers give me a damn poor impression no point waste time! Third I continue my flying course, even I got my license... I also won't join this Airline! Fourth, for those cabin crew wannabe, bear in mind... Be well prepared, anything will be happened when comes in interview session, that's part of your experience, learnt it and that's life!
